International events: APEC Youth Festival in Vladivostok

The APEC Youth Festival will be held on September 2-4, 2012, in Vladivostok under Russia's APEC chairmanship. This event will be held in parallel with the APEC-2012 Leaders Week.

As part of the program participants will discuss topics of relevance to cooperation, develop ways of resolving the region's problems, and meet politicians, businessmen, experts and academic and cultural figures of the Asia-Pacific economies, with the aim of gaining diplomatic experience and strengthening cooperation between existing and future leadership strands.

The Youth Festival program includes a simulation of the activities of APEC Working Groups, during which participants will be able to take on the role of scientists, experts and ministers, identify the most pressing problems of the region and propose ways of resolving them.
