Information technology and libraries: International conference on Information technology for libraries LIBCOM in the Moscow region

International Conference "Information Technologies, Computer Systems and Publishing products for Libraries" ("LIBCOM") is held 12-16 November 2012 in the Moscow region.

The initiator and main organizer of the conference is State Public Scientific and Technical Library of Russia.

Annually the conference is attended by heads and leading specialists of the largest libraries of the CIS countries, experts in Library and Information Sciences, university and other educational institutions, employees of publishers, booksellers, science, culture and education, representatives of the world's producers of databases, etc.

At the conference the full range of information services of the population problem by the most different structures - from schools to libraries and publishers and bookstores is discussed. One of the main themes is the constant use of modern computer technology to improve information services to the public and carrying out practical training.

Significant place is given to national programs in the field of information policy, information science and education.

As part of the conference, the exhibition "Information Technologies, Computer Systems and Publications for Libraries" is held. The exhibition is attended by large libraries, companies and publishing houses.
