Russian regions: The catalogue “Altai in the Patriotic War of 1812” is presented in the Altai Krai

The Altai Krai prepared the catalog "Altai in the Patriotic War of 1812". At the heart of the edition is the history of the inhabitants of Kolyvano Resurrection (from 1834 - Altai) mining district in the liberation of Russia against foreign invaders and the liberation of the peoples of Europe.

The catalogue of documents and materials "Altai in the Patriotic War of 1812" is prepared jointly by archivists and scholars of the Altai State Technical University in the framework of the celebration of the Year of Russian history and the 200th anniversary of the victory of the people of Russia in the Patriotic War of 1812.

The catalogue includes documents and materials from the holdings of the Regional State Archive of the Altai Krai, the Russian State Military Historical Archive, the Altai State museum and private collections. According to them, researchers at every level, as well as all the interested in the history of Russia people, can make a broad view of the events of the beginning of the XIX century, concerning the inhabitants of the region, including the territory of the Altai.

The publication consists of three parts, including 95 documents.

The first section "On His Majesty's orders..." presents documents on the presence in the Altai of the Tomsk musketeer regiment and moving of other Siberian regiments through the county. Documents of the second section "And in the terrible twelfth year..." tell of the participation of Siberian regiments in the Patriotic War of 1812. The third and last sections "No wonder the whole of Russia remembers ..." deal with the celebration of the 100th and subsequent anniversaries of victory in the 1812 war.

Three applications to the catalogue are complemented with the main unit of documents showing plans of fortifications and military buildings of Kolyvano Resurrection Mining District, documents about the hero of the Patriotic War of 1812, Major General A. A. Scaloni and memorable illustration of military glory of Siberians. It is compiled a research manual consisting of a preface, an index, a glossary of terms and concepts, a list of abbreviations.
