History of Russia: A new exhibition is dedicated to the Ural people – participants of the war
In Yekaterinburg on January 11, 2013 was presented a large-scale exhibition project about the Ural people – participants of the Great Patriotic War. The central core of the exhibition became materials, telling about the Ural Volunteer Tank Corps.
The exhibition in the Boris Yeltsin center presents colored plates, which can be traced back the history of Volunteer Tank Corps creation. The plates depict Ural tankers, who hit the enemy in Prague and Berlin on the legendary T-34. Besides, the exposition was enriched with personal things and military awards of soldiers.
A new book of Andrei Speranskiy about military feat of the Ural people in the years of the Great Patriotic War was presented. Besides, you can see a rare “Book of fighting heroes”, which was published in 1945 in an edition of 300 copies and was given to the heroes in the Victory Parade in Moscow.
All exhibits will be converted to the electronic version and will be available at the web site of the Bois Yeltsin Center. Besides, from January 14 on the basis of the exhibition for the Ural students will conduct lessons of courage.
