Society and Science: The start to the III All-Russian Science Festival is given

On the day of Russian Science, 8 February 2013, in the majority of the regions of the Russian Federation were held events, aimed at popularizing science.

In the Lomonosov Moscow State University was held the Evening on the popularization of science, giving start to events of the All-Russian Science Festival which will be held during the year in different regions of Russia. February 8 events of the Festival were also held in Ulyanovsk, Vladikavkaz, Murmansk, Yoshkar-Ola, Nizhniy Novgorod, and in a week the festival baton will be picked up by Tambov and Yekaterinburg.

It is expected that in 2013 the science Festival will be held in more than 70 regions of Russia and it will attract at least 800 000 visitors. Large science festivals are planned in Vladivostok, Irkutsk, Kazan, Kursk, Rostov-on-Don, Saratov, Tomsk, and Ulyanovsk. But main events of the III All-Russian Science Festival will be held in October, together with the VIII Festival of Science in Moscow – the Central All-Russian Festival of Science.
