Society and culture: Russian Art Week runs in Moscow

13th Russian Art Week International Exhibition of Contemporary Arts, now in its 5th year, is the longest running platform for contemporary, modern, historic and traditional fine art in Russia, CIS Countries and the rest of the world. The 2013 ArtWeek hosted more than 100 prominent galleries and attracted more than 10,000 visitors with its 'Fair-within-a-Fair' concept featuring distinct sections catering to diverse collecting genres.

13th Russian Art Week in Moscow which takes place from Thursday, April 16, to Sunday, April 21, 2013 at the Moscow Congress and Exhibition Center "Sokolniki". The art show will present more than 250 of the leading galleries from Russia, CIS countries and the rest of the world, chosen by a selection committee composed of renowned international gallerists.

In the show's sectors the exhibition will present the highest quality paintings, sculptures, drawings, installations, photographs, video and editioned works of the 20th and 21st centuries by more than 3,000 artists from Russia, CIS countries and around the globe.

At Russian Art Week in Moscow, collectors from across the world will discover the best art being produced in Russia and beyond, and enjoy the dynamic cross-cultural exchange that only this show and city can offer. The exhibition will be accompanied by an extensive talks program, giving first-hand insights into the latest developments in the artworld, and a stimulating program of events showcasing Moscow's rich culture. Exhibitions and events timed to coincide with the show will take place across the city's thriving gallery scene, and in its growing array of cultural institutions, including Russian Art Archive, the Russian Society, the developing museum component of the Russian Cultural District.
