Society and culture: Shakespeare readings – 2014 opened in Moscow

The XXV Shakespeare readings take place in the framework of the 450th anniversary of the birth of William Shakespeare. Their theme - "Shakespeare in Russian-English Cultural Dialogue".

The scientific forum welcomes major Shakespeare scholars and cultural figures of Russia, England, Spain, Italy, India, the USA, Mexico, Australia and South Africa. Members and guests will discuss the creative perception of heritage Shakespeare in Russian literature, music and the visual arts, scientific and educational development of the heritage of Shakespeare in Russia, see performances and interpretations of Shakespeare in Russia and their translations into Russian.

Shakespeare reading will last until September 18. The events will take place at the sites of the State Institute of Art Studies, the M. I. Rudomino Russian State Library of Foreign Literature and the Moscow University for the Humanities.

The world's largest scientific forum is organized by the State Institute of Art Studies, the Shakespeare Commission of the Scientific Council of the Russian Academy of Sciences "History of World Culture", the A. M. Gorky Institute of World Literature Gorky, the Moscow University for the Humanities, the Russian University of Theatre Arts with the participation of Russian branch of the International Academy of Sciences (Austria).
