History of Russia: The multimedia project “Metro and War” in Moscow
April 24, 2015 at the Russian Museum of Decorative and Applied Art (Moscow) is launched a multimedia interdisciplinary project "Metro and War", dedicated to the anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War, which tells about the role of the Moscow Metro in Moscow military life.
Metro in Moscow is more than just a metro. It is not only the transport system, but also a unique art complex, imbued with history. The exhibition "Subway and War" tells the story of the war, the development of resistance and victory by the example of "ordinary" life of the Moscow Metro, 1941-1945 years.
The exposition features rare materials of the Russian State Film and Photo Archive, the Russian State Archive of Socio-Political History, the Central City Archives of Moscow, the Russian State Library. Topicality of the exhibition will hold a visitor from June 22, 1941 to May 9, 1945, day after day, listing the captured city, the loss of the parties, the opening of new stations, names of artists working on them daily, diet, the number of raids on Moscow and so forth.
The emotional part of the exhibition is revealed via media component. Visitors will learn about the memories of people who depend on the actions of events of all sizes, but each of which is now equally valuable.
Victory and heroism of the Soviet people have become a key theme for the new style, style victory, formed in the postwar years. At the exhibition, this theme is developed with the help of the post-war architectural sketches and graphic arts students MAI MVHPU of Stroganov, who were disciples of the founders of the Moscow Metro.
