Internet and history: Russian Ministry of Finance opened access to original historical documents

Russian Ministry of Finance has launched on its official website a new section "Historical Budget". It features digitized budget lists and guides of our country for more than a century-long period (from 1866 to 1990).

The Ministry believes that this initiative will enhance the knowledge of citizens about the structure of the financial system of the country in historical aspect. For example, now it is possible to compare the same item of expenditure or income at different times.

The following year, Russia's Ministry of Finance expects to provide access to a "Virtual historical library of the Russian Ministry of Finance." This section will include with explanatory notes, analytical and other historical documents.
