Electronic libraries: The Interagency Council for Development of the National Electronic Library formed

Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev on September 1, 2015 signed a decree "On the formation of the Interagency Council on the development of the National Electronic Library", which will help organizing the interaction of federal executive authorities, federal, regional and municipal libraries, academic institutions, archives and museums, authors and rights holders in creation of a single information and library space.

By a signed a decree it was established an interagency council for the development of the National Electronic Library (hereinafter - the Council) and the Regulations of it.

The Council is designed to form proposals for the development of the National Electronic Library and the information of library activities based on the analysis of the best practice.

The Council is formed from the number of representatives of the Ministry of Culture of Russia, federal executive bodies, libraries - project participants, publishing organizations, the professional community and the public.

The organization and technical support of the Council is tasked to the Ministry of Culture of Russia.

Decisions will facilitate the organization of interaction of federal executive bodies, libraries, federal, regional and municipal reference, research institutions, archives and museums, authors and copyright holders in the establishment of a single information and library space.
