Museums and society: The permanent exposition “Rarities of museum library” opened in the Museum of Industry and Art in Ivanovo
The Museum of Industry and Art (Ivanovo) hosts a permanent exhibition "Rarities of the museum library". It was the final section of the museum exposition of the project "Reconstruction of the museum library of D. G. Burylin".
The sponsors of the project sought to emphasize the uniqueness of the museum's library, established by the founder of the Museum of Art and Industry D. G. Burylin as a significant phenomenon for Russian culture province of the early XX century.
Visitors of the exhibition will be able to learn the history of the museum's library and see rare editions, most of which are presented for the first time. Among them, the first scientific collection of works of Lomonosov, published in 1803, lifetime editions of fables by Ivan Krylov in Russian, French and Italian, published in Paris in 1825, the earliest edition of the fund "Libraries of D. G. Burylin" - the beginning of the book of the XVIII century (1708 and 1724), which became a model for the printing of the famous Russian Petrine reforms of font 1708-1710 biennium. The visitors are presented the official government, legal, scientific and educational publications, special literature on industry knowledge and production technologies, books on geography, natural history, medicine, mathematics, astronomy, to educate young people, and the rhetoric and Russian literature.
A large part of the exhibition is devoted to the rich collection of periodicals "Libraries of D. G. Burylin", literary and literary-political magazines, among them - "Herald of Europe", "Russian Gazette", "Notes of the Fatherland", "Son of the Fatherland", "Library for Reading" and others. The sponsors are not paid attention to the first lifetime publications countrymen – A. N. Ostrovsky, A. A. Potekhin, F. D. Nefedov, P. N. Zarubin, K. D. Balmont.
