World History and Culture: The exhibition “The Bride of the Desert. Palmyra” is opened in the Museum of the History of Religion in St. Petersburg

The State Museum of the History of Religion (St. Petersburg) presents the exhibition “The Bride of the Desert. Palmyra”, prepared jointly with the St. Petersburg branch of the Imperial Orthodox Palestine Society.

The exhibition presents for the first time original photographs from the museum collection of the Imperial Orthodox Palestine Society, dating back1860-1880. The exhibition is added with the works of photographer Dmitry Yakovlev (photographer of the State Museum of the History of Religion), made by him in Syria in 2007 and 2008 during the journey.
