The flag of the Leningrad Region is approved by the law of the Leningrad Region of December 31, 1997, No. 74-OZ "On the coat of arms and the flag of the Leningrad Region."
The flag of the Leningrad Region is an official symbol of the state and administrative status of the Leningrad Region as a full-fledged subject of the Russian Federation. The flag of the Leningrad Region is a rectangular panel with a ratio of length to width of 3: 2. At the top of the flag is a white field, occupying 2/3 of its width. On the white field in the center is the coat of arms of the Leningrad Region. The overall width of the coat of arms on the flag of the Leningrad Region should be 2/9 of the length of the cloth.
