The original monument "Mammoth" is located at the entrance to Salekhard . Established in July 2005. The official name of the monument is "Mammoth", but the artists who participated in its manufacture called the sculpture Mitya. A whole team of artists from many cities - Salekhard, Moscow, Izhevsk and Minsk, worked on the creation of the monument. The author of the project is an entrepreneur, member of the non-profit union of artists "Unity" Alex Tyutnev. The height of the bronze mammoth reaches 10 meters. The purpose of the huge figure of the mammoth is the memory of the ancient inhabitants of the North and a reminder to people about the importance of preserving rare animals .
