On December 24, 2004, a road bridge over the Shaytanka River was opened in Salekhard. The new bridge was named "Torch" and became an important artery of the city, connecting the city center and the airport. The total height of the bridge is 100 m. Architects: LG Petushkov, EN Petushkova, AA Polyakov and OG Bolshakova. Constructors: AV Timofeevich, MM Korneev and N. V. Kancheli. According to the original intention of the authors of the project, an illusion is created that the bridge falls into the river. The only pylon that holds the bridge was specially tilted toward the airport and the river. Thanks to this, the cable-stayed bridge seemed to hang over the water surface. The inclined propylaea symbolize the entrance gate to the city of Salekhard from the airport side. The architectural composition is completed by a cone in the golden lattice, which symbolizes a gas torch. Visitors have the opportunity to climb to the observation deck, located on the upper levels of the bridge, on an observation lift. - Site materials used: Region89.rf - YaNAO .
