Mikhail Arkadevich Briskman (1904-1975) - Soviet library worker, literary critic, educator and scholar-bibliographer. He was an employee of the State Public Library in 1931-1942 and 1944-1951. Since 1948 he worked at the Leningrad State Library Institute. NK Krupskaya at the Department of General Bibliography. His scientific interests included problems of theory, history and methodology of bibliography (including local lore), problems of literary bibliography, and bibliographic work of libraries. In 1956 he defended his thesis for a candidate - a study about VG Anastasevich. He was awarded the medal "For Valiant Labor in the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945", his name is included in the "Book of Honor" of the Russian National Library
