The film tells about the little-known "life artery" that provided Leningrad with fuel during the blockade. Thanks to her, firefighters went out to extinguish burning houses, rescue products were taken to shops, combat aircraft took to the air, tanks of the Leningrad front went on the attack. Thanks to her, the blockade could be broken. This artery is the first in the Soviet Union underwater pipeline, laid along the bottom of Lake Ladoga. The film tells about how such a bold project came about, how the top-secret "special construction No. 6" took place, what role military divers played in this story, among them the legendary Nina Sokolova - the world's first woman - a heavy diver .
