M. Antokolsky created a model of the monument in 1872, and it was erected in 1957 by the 250th anniversary of Leningrad.Peter is imprinted in a proud pose, dressed in the front uniform of the Preobrazhensky regiment, in a triangle and boots.The figure of the Emperor is Osusan to the sedge, on his chest - the tape and star of the Order of Andrei the First -Called.On the left side of the broadsword in the scabbard.With his left hand, Peter I holds the telescope, and with the right rests on the cane.The sculpture is located in the structures of the Starladozhsky Canal, which in March 1719 were built under the personal control of Peter I.
