Founded in 1821 as "Christian reading: a monthly publication at the St. Petersburg Theological Academy"
The magazine "Christian Reading" was published in 1821 on the proposal of the Rector of the Academy Archimandrite Grigory (Postnikov) In 1875-1895 he left as "Addition to the Church's messenger, published at the St. Petersburg Theological Academy"; in 1896-1903 and 1904-1916 - as an appendix to the journal "The Church Gazette" Official body for the publication of regulations and governmental orders for the spiritual department. In 1918, the publication of the journal was terminated. It resumed in 1990 under the title "The Bulletin of the Leningrad Theological Academy", and since 1991 - under the original name "Christian reading" Since July 2009, the magazine has been published in a new format, taking into account the requirements of the Higher Certification Commission of Russia for scientific journals. In 2009, two issues of the journal were published, in 2010 - four.
