"Bazhovskie Places" - a natural park in the Sysertsky urban district of the Sverdlovsk region. Created on April 4, 2007, it is endowed with the status of a specially protected natural area. The park is located 60 km south of Yekaterinburg and occupies 40,000 hectares on the lands of the forest fund of the Federal State Institution "Sysertsky Leskhoz." The park is named in honor of the famous Ural writer Pavel Petrovich Bazhov - these natural places are described in his works. - The Upper Sysert pond is located to the west of the village of Verkhnyaya Sysert, about 50 km south of Yekaterinburg. Formed in 1849 as a reservoir by overlapping the Poldnevaya Sysert River. The pond is the first reservoir along the Sysert River, it has two branches. The total area is 1,130 hectares, the depth is about 4,5 m. Bream, pike, tin, perch, ruff, pike perch and other fish are found in the reservoir.
