December 26, 2016 Gosstroynadzor issued a permit to commission the St. Petersburg Stadium Governor, Vice Governor and Chairman of the Legislative Assembly visited the new stadium During the event, an excursion to the site was organized, a meeting with the general contractor and builders - The new stadium "St. Petersburg", built in 2016, is located on the Krestovsky Island in St.- (1950) The author of the project was the Japanese architect Kise Kurokawa. The project envisaged the preservation of the dimensions of the hill and the pavilions of the Kirov Stadium, the location of the football field, the preservation of cash pavilions and the monument to SM Kirov in front of the stadium. The main constructive decisions of the project were the overlapping of the bowl of the stands a sliding roof with a diameter of 286 m, supported by 8 masts, and a retractable field allowing to conduct non-football events on a concrete foundation. The area of the new stadium's territory stavlyaet 287,600 sq m, capacity - 56 196 people, the zone of 400 persons for the media at the stadium were FIFA Confederations Cup matches in 2017, organized football matches of FIFA World Cup 2018
