The magazine was intended for agitators, propagandists, teachers of adult schools, cultural workers of trade unions, librarians, etc. Illiteracy and literacy issues, schools and in 1931, merged with the magazine "People's Enlightenment" and, retaining its original name, came out until 1936 again as an organ of the political and educational institutions, (in 1931 - two-week, 1932 - monthly, 1933-1936 - two-month) was designed for enlightenment activists of party, Komsomol and trade union organizations; covered the issues of universal education, cultural construction, teacher education, school polytechnics, etc.
