The Volgograd Regional Center hosts Biblionoch

April 20, 2018 the Volgograd Regional Center of the Presidential Library, opened on the basis of the M. Gorky Regional Universal Scientific Library, within the framework of the annual social and cultural action "Biblioch", hosts a series of events aimed at popularizing reading and supporting the literary process on the basis of various forms and methods

Within the framework of the action, the use of the resources of the electronic reading room of the Presidential Library was tested as a component of the literary quest devoted to the 200th anniversary of the birth of I. S. Turgenev. More than 200 participants of the quest got familiar with the document "I. S. Turgenev’s Letters to Pauline Viardot" and found answers to questions about Turgenev's life and work.

Master-classes on the urban landscape in the technique of acrylic painting and sketching were held by the artist S. Timofeev. A feature of the master class was the use of photographic materials of the Presidential Library.

Within the framework of the Biblionochi-2018, the winners of the photo contest "The Seventh Sense" dedicated to the love of the book regardless of format, size and genre were solemnly awarded.

On the website of the Presidential Library the region is represented by the collection "Volgograd Region: Pages of History". The collection contains studies, essays, memoirs, archival documents, official statistical collections and surveys, as well as the journals of district zemstvo meetings devoted to the history, archeology, economics, demography and military-administrative development of the territories of the XIII-XX centuries, now being a part of the Volgograd region (former Tsaritsyn and Kamyshin districts of the Saratov province).
