The "Merchant Tyumen" project of the Presidential Library branch was launched

May 17, 2018 the project of the Presidential Library branch "Merchant Tyumen" was launched.

On this day, two groups of pupils from the Tyumen district of the Borovo secondary school and the G. S. Kovalchuk Vinzilyn secondary school of the Tyumen municipal district went on a “Tyumen-2” motor ship on a journey through time. The guide in a thematic costume told the children about the famous residents of the capital of the region - the merchants of the first guild, patrons and benefactors.

The tour of the project includes not only an interesting story about the activities of honorable citizens of Tyumen, but also a practical part of the numbers of the "Siberian Trade newspaper" from 1897-1898 from the Presidential Library collections. Schoolchildren were offered to find the goods in the newspaper notes as much as possible, after which they should be changed to modern rubles.

In addition to the contest between the two teams, the excursion involves a walk along the ship - the children have the opportunity to enjoy the view of the Tura River and the embankment of the city, as well as make beautiful photos in the "Best Project Selfie" contest. The results of the contest will be announced in October 2018 after the completion of the project "Merchant Tyumen".

An unusual excursion is planned to be visited by pupils of 7-11 grades from 35 general educational institutions of the city of Ishim, Tyumen and Omutinsky municipal districts of the Tyumen region.

Project life is connected with navigation of the shipping company, it will last from May to September 2018.
