The World Day of the Russian Language in Madrid was marked by the laying flowers in front of the monument to Alexander Pushkin

In Madrid park "Quinta de la Fuente del Berro" compatriots, students of Russian language courses at the Russian Center of Science and Culture in Madrid and Spaniards who are interested in Russian culture and literature gathered together near the monument to Alexander Pushkin to pay tribute to the poet and show their mastery of a Russian language. The advisers-envoy of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Kingdom of Spain Dmitry Sokolov and the head of the Rossotrudnichestvo in Spain Eduard Sokolov addressed the audience.

Pupils of the educational center "Znayka", pupils of the school at the Russian Embassy read poems at the foot of the monument. Nobody was left indifferent by Pushkin's lines in the performance of Russian language students at the RCSC. Especially touching were the verses of the Spaniards, who had just begun to learn Russian.

All speakers were given memorable gifts - books by Alexander Pushkin, and bouquets of flowers were laid to a monument of the great Russian poet

The Presidential Library portal features electronic collection “A. S. Pushkin (1799-1837)”. It includes digital copies of books, articles, archival documents, abstracts of thesis, video films, graphic and other materials devoted to the life and work of the poet and the state's activity in preserving the memory of him.

Among the materials of the collection there is a digital copy of the Charter, awarded by Emperor Alexander I to the Imperial Tsarskoye Selo Lyceum, which played a significant role in the formation of Alexander Pushkin. A great place in the collection is taken by articles from periodicals of the pre-revolutionary period, allowing you see how the attitude to the poet and his work has changed over time.
