"From Kursk to Chisinau" exhibition is now open in the Russian Center of Science and Culture in Chisinau

The Russian Center of Science and Culture in Chisinau hosted an event dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Kursk and the opening of the exhibition "From Kursk to Chisinau".

The event took place within the framework of the meeting of the historical and literary club "Russia - Moldova: people, events, facts". The hall of the RCSC was attended by the chairman of the Russian community Lyudmila Lashcheonova, the leaders of other ethno-cultural organizations of compatriots, students of the capital's lyceums. The main guests were veterans of the Great Patriotic War.

The evening was opened by the head of the Rossotrudnichestvo office in the Republic of Moldova Mikhail Davydov. He told about the celebration in Russia of the 75th anniversary of the end of the Battle of Kursk: "Five people were invited from Moldova to celebrate in Kursk. Unfortunately, our veterans could not attend this celebration, but today one of them is our legendary Colonel Pavel Vasilyevich Gladkov, our great friend, a constant participant in historical and patriotic events".

Pavel Vasilievich Gladkov emotionally and vividly told about one day of the Battle of Kursk - July 17, 1943. Then the head of the Russian Historical and Patriotic Club Alexei Petrovich held a tour around the exhibition "Kursk - Chisinau", which was based on photographs of archival records and comments to them provided by the Central Museum of the Great Patriotic War.

Participants watched "Decisive Tank Battle on the Kursk Bulge" documentary.

The Presidential Library portal is featuring the collection "Memory of the Great Victory", which includes official documents, photo and newsreels, wartime newspapers, books, propaganda publications, collections of articles, biographies, testimonies of participants in combat battles and workers rear, their personal documents, images of combat and labor awards, monuments and memorial complexes.
