Interactive class "Siege: Chronicle of Life" held in the Penza Regional Center of the Presidential Library

On January 17, 2019, specialists of the Penza Regional Center of the Presidential Library held an interactive event for pupils of the 9th grade of secondary school № 36, dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the complete liberation of the siege of Leningrad.

During the class, schoolchildren studied the materials of the Presidential Library's portal, which detail about the hostilities and the life of citizens during the siege. From the book of D. V. Vasilyev “Leningrad in Siege”, the pupils learned how children were evacuated, how residents protected their houses from shelling, where the Road of Life passed - the only path to invaders that brought food and evacuated the citizens.

The pupils got familiar with the collection “Defence and Siege of Leningrad”, which includes digitized ration cards, evacuation certificate, leaflets, memos, photos of that time. The pupils were also shown a fragment of the newsreel “Defence of Leningrad. Siege of Leningrad".

On the website of the Presidential Library, Penza Region is represented by the collection “Penza Region: Pages of History”. The collection includes archival documents, essays, studies and statistical materials covering demographic, geographical, socio-economic, socio-political and other aspects of the history of the region of the end of the XVIII - the first third of the XX century. The current Charter of the region is provided.
