Commemoration meeting dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the Nazi siege held in Beijing

Commemoration meeting was held at the Russian Cultural Center in Beijing marking the 75th anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the Nazi siege.

A large-scale event was organized by the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in the PRC and the Committee on External Relations of St. Petersburg with the support and participation of the embassies of the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Kyrgyz Republic and the Secretariat of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

In the course of the commemoration meeting, the documentary film “Ladoga” with unique testimonies of the Road of Life in the spring - autumn of 1942 was screened.

For the guests of the PRC, a military-patriotic concert and exhibition about the siege of Leningrad were arranged. In addition, the guests had the opportunity to see the exposition of stamps of the Chinese philatelist Zhu Chenchen, which was dedicated to the landmark events of the Great Patriotic War.

The Presidential Library’s portal features electronic collection Defence and Siege of Leningrad. The selection includes official documents, cards, leaflets, memos, memoirs, diaries, materials from personal archives, photo and newsreels, wartime newspapers, books, collections of articles, biographies, as well as scientific and fiction literature.
