The photographs converted into digital format capture the classic of modern literature Daniil Aleksandrovich Granin (1919–2017) during the presentations of his books “My Lieutenant”, “Fads of My Memory”, “Intelegendy” and “Evenings with Peter the Great”. His meeting with students and cultural and scientific figures: Mikhail Piotrovsky, Director of the State Hermitage Museum, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Nobel Laureate in Physics Jores Alferov, famous composer Andrei Petrov, People's Artist of the USSR Kirill Lavrov and others are also captured.

The exhibition was created in collaboration with the St. Petersburg University of the Humanities and Social Sciences and presented in the Presidential Library on December 11, 2018. On the same day “Daniil Granin and the youth" video lecture, as well as the "Daniil Granin and the youth: university texts” book were presented.

Daniil Granin visited the Presidential Library a dozen times. He got the library card in June 2011, but he came to talk with the specialists of the institution, share his creative plans, and discuss the acute issues of the society. A film-interview with the writer “Time to Recall. Daniil Granin” was produced in the Academic Council hall.

Since the end of last year, a collection dedicated to the centenary anniversary of the birth of the honorary citizen of St. Petersburg, winner of literary and state awards, Daniil Granin, has been available on the Presidential Library’s portal. This date was celebrated on January 1, 2019. The entire 2019, in accordance with the decree of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin, will be held under the sign of the writer's centenary anniversary.

The collection “Daniil Granin (1919–2017)” includes photographs reflecting Granin’s public activities, photographs from the presentation of the Alien Diary book in 2018 and other documents.

On the eve of the 75th anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the Nazi siege, the Presidential Library launched a new series of multimedia lessons on the feat of the defenders of the city on the Neva and its residents. Moreover, these lessons of courage are accompanied by quotations from Daniil Granin's “The Siege Book”.

The Presidential Library should become one of the main sites for events within the framework of the anniversary of the great compatriot in 2019.
