Live Classics International Prose Reading Contest took place in Hungary

The first round of the national stage of Live Classics International Prose Reading Contest was held on March 11, 2019 in the Russian Center of Science and Culture in Budapest. It brought together schoolchildren and gymnasium pupils aged between 10 and 17 from Budapest, Ócsa and Szeged. The contest included a wide variety of works by Russian writers: A. Grin, Yu. Yakovlev, M. Gorky, Teffi, A. P. Chekhov, S. Marshak, M. Druzhinina, and T. Petrosyan.

As a reward winners will take a trip to Artek International Children's Camp to represent Hungary in the international final of the contest. The best reciters were chosen in the second round of the national stage, which took place the next day on March 12, 2019.    

The Presidential Library provides access to “Russian Literature: Modern Studies” electronic collection, which is available on its portal. The selection includes dissertation abstracts dedicated to Russian literature from ancient times up to the present day. The studies focus on literary works, as well as the stylistic and thematic peculiarities of the oeuvre of Russian writers, their role and place in the literary process.
