Congratulate the Presidential Library!

May 27, 2019 marks the 10th anniversary of the opening of the Presidential Library, the first electronic national library of Russia. Today it is the largest national repository of digital copies of the most important documents on the history, theory and practice of Russian statehood, the Russian language, as well as a multimedia multifunctional (cultural, educational, academic, research and information) center.  

The Presidential Library is one of the leading federal centers for coordinating work in the field of formation, storage and use of electronic resources. So far, the Presidential Library numbers more than 770,000 electronic copies of books and periodicals, archival documents, audio and video recordings, photographs, science education films, dissertation abstracts and other materials. About 1000 institutions and citizens involved in the activities of the Presidential Library participate in the creation of a national electronic resource.

To date, the Presidential Library has opened more than 900 remote access centers in all 85 constituent entities of the Russian Federation. The thousandth remote electronic reading room will be launched marking the library’s tenth anniversary year. In addition, residents of not only our country, but the whole world can get familiar with materials from unique collections of the Presidential Library - today, 38 remote access centers to the national electronic repository are open in 30 countries abroad.

The Presidential Library will celebrate the tenth anniversary of its institution with a series of events. Thus, “Congratulate the Presidential Library!” new project has been launched in social networks marking the tenth anniversary of the institution in 2019.  We look forward to welcoming you for the participation.
