Penza Regional Center of Access to the Resources of the Presidential Library Presents the Book Exhibition “The Revolution That Opened the 20th Century”

Employees of the Penza Regional Center of Access to the Resources of the Presidential Library presented a book exhibition “The Revolution that Opened the 20th Century” dedicated to the events of the First Russian Revolution of 1905. The exposition covers the difficult and controversial period of Russian history, when the systemic problems of Russian statehood were identified.

The exhibition spotlights the most important episodes of that era: the shooting of workers on January 9, 1905, riots in the army and navy, in the countryside and in the city, the December armed uprising in Moscow, the manifesto on improving the state order on October 17, 1905.

Guests of the exhibition were additionally shown a presentation of the Presidential Library’s resources on the first Russian revolution, as well as everyone who had the opportunity to get familiar with the thematic selection of literature offered in the presentation and to work with electronic resources from the collections of the national library.

The Presidential Library’s portal features Penza Region: Pages of History collection. It includes archival affairs, essays, studies and statistical materials which spotlight various aspects of the history of the region at the end of the XVIII - the first third of the XX century: demographic, geographical, socio-economic, socio-political and others, as well as the current Charter of Penza Region.
