The development of the Presidential Library’s network to consider in Yekaterinburg

February 19-20, 2020 the Belinsky Sverdlovsk Regional Universal Research Library will host a regional meeting “Development of the Presidential Library’s Network in Sverdlovsk Region”.

The purpose of the event is to discuss issues related to the development of a network of representative offices of the Presidential Library in Sverdlovsk Region and the promotion of information resources of the Presidential Library among target audiences.

The program of the two-day meeting is very eventful. It includes the presentation of a system of unified methodological support: the organization of interaction between cultural and educational institutions, the possibility of methodological centers at the municipal libraries on the use of information resources of the Presidential Library for specialists of school information and library centers and teachers. They will get familiar with the technical conditions and the algorithm for connecting the institution to the resources of the Presidential Library. The participants of the event will also find a series of workshops and seminars on the use of information resources of the Presidential Library - working in the electronic reading room and on the Internet portal; using the capabilities of the digital collections in cultural and educational institutions; event management, exhibition activities, etc. The meeting program also includes the presentation of inter-regional projects of the Presidential Library for a wide range of readers - the Russia in the Electronic World Olympiad, the student research contest, the Foreign View Photo Contest, as well as partner network projects related to the formation of electronic collections: “The Wooden Tale of Russia”, “Kremlin of Russia”, “Mining Plant in Russia”, etc.

“The Presidential Library provides scientific and methodological support to its regional access centers, in particular, in the direction of creating digital collections through the integration of library, archives and museums”, - emphasizes the Director of Information Resources of the Presidential Library Elena Zhabko.

The meeting was attended by representatives of resident organizations of the Presidential Library, responsible for the operation of electronic reading rooms in cultural and educational institutions of Sverdlovsk Region, and organizations currently considering connecting to the information resources of the Presidential Library.

The organizers of the event are the Presidential Library, the Ministry of Education and Youth Policy of Sverdlovsk Region, the Ministry of Culture of Sverdlovsk Region, the Belinsky Sverdlovsk Regional Universal Research Library, the Sverdlovsk Regional Center of the Presidential Library.
