The final stage of "Russia in the Electronic World" Olympiad held in a remote format

The Presidential Library held the third and final stage of the annual interactive Olympiad for schoolchildren “Russia in the Electronic World” on history, social studies and the Russian language in long-distance learning format. 113 participants took part in the finals in history, 227 in social studies, 115 students from 52 regions of Russia in the Russian language. The lists of finalists are published on the website of the Olympiad and in the VKontakte group.

The last stage was held from March 17 to 19 at the same time in St. Petersburg - in the Presidential Library on Senate Square, 3, in its branch in Tyumen, located at the Mendeleev the Tyumen Regional Scientific Library, as well as at almost 60 sites in other cities, including for the first time at the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University. The contests were held in two shifts - the first from 08:00 to 11:15, the second - from 12:00 to 15:15 Moscow time.

To successfully complete the tasks of the final stage students had to turn to the Presidential Library’s collections, which contain over 870 thousand electronic copies of books and periodicals, archival documents, audio and video recordings, photographs, educational films and other materials.

Winners and prize-awardees of the Internet Olympiad will receive benefits for admission to universities - partners of the Presidential Library, a list of which is published on the website of the Olympiad. The best participants will be awarded memorable prizes and gifts from the Presidential Library.

The Internet Olympiad for schoolchildren “Russia in the Electronic World” is a large-scale educational project implemented by the Presidential Library. More than 45 thousand students in grades 10–11 took part in the project since 2010. .

In 2019, in the year of the tenth anniversary Olympiad, the fourth discipline “Russian as a Foreign Language”, designed for foreign citizens over 14 years of age who are studying Russian, was introduced. The final stage of the Olympiad in this discipline will be held at the end of May 2020 with the possibility of holding it in the correspondence format.
