Virtual exhibition marking the anniversary of Afanasy Fet held in Yekaterinburg

2020 marks the 200th anniversary of the birth of Afanasy Afanasyevich Fet. Thus, the Belinsky Sverdlovsk Regional Universal Scientific Library provides a new virtual exhibition dedicated to the life and career of the great poet.

The interactive exposition was the result of the collective work of three departments of the regional library: the rare books department, the acquisition and accounting department, and the Sverdlovsk regional center of the Presidential library. It presents about 50 editions of Fet, including rare; links to copies of articles and materials from different years for linguists, literary critics, everyone who is interested in touching the difficult life of the poet, learning about his literary and even agricultural achievements.

The exhibition is accompanied by links to documents from the Presidential Library, to the texts of Fet's works in the LitRes library and to lists of books that are stored in Belinka collections.

The readers are also invited to share their favorite quotes, facts from Fet's biography. The most interesting responses will be published on the pages of the Belinsky Library in social networks.

The Presidential Library has been forming a digital collection of materials “Fact and Image of Russian History in the Works of Russian Writers”. It features the views of writers on the history of Russia XVI - early XX century. Particular attention is paid to works of art about the era of the reign of Ivan the Terrible, the formation and heyday of the Russian Empire in the 18th - early 20th centuries, the Patriotic War of 1812, the socio-economic and socio-political development of Russia in the 19th - early 20th centuries. The collection contains the first publications of works, books about the life and career of such writers as Alexander Pushkin, Fyodor Dostoevsky, Leo Tolstoy, Anton Chekhov and others, as well as their portraits.
