The Presidential Library to host the International Technological Forum "Russian Standards Week"

The International Technological Forum "Russian Standards Week", timed to coincide with the 95th anniversary of Rosstandart and World Standards Day, will be held on October 14-15, 2020 in St. Petersburg at the Presidential Library. Representatives of government authorities, business and public organizations from Russia and foreign countries will focus on topical issues of the Russian quality infrastructure. 

The forum has been organized by the Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology (Rosstandart), the national standardization body of the Russian Federation. The forum continues the traditions of the first national industry forum "Standardization-2019", which was also held in St. Petersburg at the Presidential Library.

“In 2020, the global economy faced new challenges, including a pandemic. Therefore, the development of new solutions for industry in a new reality will become one of the key tasks of the forum. Much attention at the forum, of course, will be paid to the development of international, regional and national standardization, metrology and conformity assessment in the context of digital transformation - IoT technologies, artificial intelligence, unmanned vehicles require prompt solutions, taking into account the opinions of the widest range of experts. This year will focus on ecology, issues of metrology, as well as the fight against industrial counterfeit”, - said the Head of Rosstandart Alexei Abramov. 

The speakers of the forum will be the Secretary General of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Sergio Mujica, Secretary General of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) Philip Metzger, Chairman of the Pacific Regional Standardization Congress (PASC) and Executive Director of the Council for Standardization of Canada Chantal Guay, Director General of the National Authority for standardization of Singapore So Kuk Choi.

The event will be attended by representatives of other international and foreign organizations, heads of federal authorities, scientists of major research and educational centers, heads of Russian industrial enterprises.

The forum will sum up the results of the competition for the All-Russian public award "Standardizer of the Year".
