On the eve of the 77th anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the Nazi siege, which will be celebrated on January 27, the Presidential Library’s portal provides a virtual tour of the State Museum "Nevsky Pyatachok".

The legendary "Nevsky Pyatachok" is one of the most heroic pages of the defence of Leningrad. Under this name, a small bridgehead on the left bank of the Neva opposite the village of Nevskaya Dubrovka went down in history. Here the confrontation with the enemy lasted 285 days. More than two hundred thousand Soviet soldiers lost their lives for a small piece of land conquered from the Nazis.

Today, the main area of activity of the “Nevsky Pyatachok” Museum is the compilation of the Book of Memory, which records information about all the defenders of the Motherland who died and were buried here.

The exposition is dedicated to heroic events. The atmosphere of the war years can be felt through the authentic objects of that time: small arms, devices and devices for warfare used by the warring parties, as well as household and personal belongings of military personnel. In addition, the museum recreates a real dugout and displays a diorama reflecting the horror of the war.

“Nevsky Pyatachok” is also valuable because it was created and then reconstructed by people who considered it their duty to devote themselves to preserving the memory of warriors-heroes: museum workers, historians, ethnographers, schoolchildren and all residents of Dubrovka. Thanks to the new virtual tour, the atmosphere of this truly folk museum has been preserved.

Today visitors to the Presidential Library’s portal, without leaving their homes, have opportunity to visit the siege expositions of other museums - partners of the institution: the State Memorial Museum of the Defence and Siege of Leningrad, the Kobona Museum: Road of Life, the unique school museum “And the Muses Were not Silent ...”.

Virtual projects are an actively developing area of the Presidential Library's activity, thanks to which the electronic repository along with paper, photo, audio and video materials is added with exhibits from exhibitions, items from museum collections.

Today, more than twenty-five virtual tours and excursions are available for remote visits. One has opportunity to learn about them on the Presidential Library’s portal in the Exhibitions section at the link https://www.prlib.ru/about_exhibition
