Gomel held a competition of animation projects "He said: Off we go!"

The Russian Centre for Science and Culture in Gomel and the Gomel Regional Branch of the Republican Public Association "Russian Society" held an international contest of animation projects "He said: Off we go!". The event marked the 60th anniversary of the first manned space-flight.

School students from Belarus and Russia, who are fond of creating animation projects, took part in the contest. There were announced following topics: "Yuri Alekseevich Gagarin - the First Cosmonaut", "Step into Space...", "About the Stars and Planets", "The Founders of Cosmonautics, Designers, Cosmonauts", "Spacecrafts: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow", "Life on Other Planets", "Belka, Strelka and Others...", "Man and Space".

The contest results will be announced on April 7. The winners will be awarded at the Russian Centre for Science and Culture in Gomel on April 12.

The Presidential Library provides the Outer Space electronic collection, which features fragments of newsreels, periodicals, books, postcards, commemorative medals and badges that highlight milestones in manned space exploration.
