Cooperation between the Presidential Library and Republic of Khakassia: a new impetus for development

Cooperation documents between the Presidential Library and the Government of Republic of Khakassia as well as the grand opening of the regional center of the Presidential Library based on the Domozhakov National Library were signed on June 25, 2021 in Abakan. Cooperation documents were sealed with signatures by acting Director General of the Presidential Library Pavel Tereshchenko and acting Head of Republic of Khakassia, Chairman of the Government of Republic of Khakassia, Irina Voinova.

Deputy Head of Republic of Khakassia - Prime Minister of Republic of Khakassia Olga Ponomareva, Minister of Culture of Republic of Khakassia Svetlana Okolnikova, representatives of government authorities, cultural and scientific institutions attended the events that would serve to integrate regional library, archival and museum resources into the Russian and world information space.

The successful cooperation of the Presidential Library with Republic of Khakassia has been developing since 2011. It includes joint participation in interregional conferences and workshops, cultural and educational events.

In 2017 the Domozhakov National Library hosted the opening of a remote electronic reading room of the Presidential Library, which is in great demand among young scientists and researchers of the region. Specialists of the Domozhakov National Library are actively involved in promoting the resources of the Presidential Library among readers and colleagues and participate in interregional projects and provide methodological support to municipal libraries.

The creation of a regional center of the Presidential Library in Republic of Khakassia is a new stage of cooperation between the Presidential Library and Khakassia, which will provide more opportunities for residents of the republic to participate in interregional network projects and events of the Presidential Library, uniting libraries, museums, archives, including in professional development activities.

In addition, it will be possible to open remote electronic reading rooms of the Presidential Library in the republic's municipal libraries.

The Presidential Library’s collections, which contain more than a million depository items, feature a lot of materials dedicated to Khakassia. The Presidential Library’s portal contains the electronic collection Republic of Khakassia. Pages of History, which includes research, archival documents and sound recordings spotlighting certain aspects of the socio-economic, socio-political and cultural development of Republic of Khakassia and the Khakass ethnos, as well as studies of the region's territory. The collection also includes the current Constitution of Republic of Khakassia.

Cooperation with the regions is one of the priority areas of the Presidential Library's activity. Today, more than 1,200 centers of remote access to library resources have been opened in all 85 constituent entities of the Russian Federation. 44 remote access centers of the Presidential Library are now open in 30 countries abroad.
