A project aimed at promoting the resources of the Presidential Library implemented in Chelyabinsk Region

A professional competition among employees of the region's libraries, dedicated to the organization of an extra-curricular event using the information resources of the Presidential Library was held from March 1 to June 15, 2021 in the South Urals. The competition was held within the framework of the new project "The Library is Closer to Us" of the Regional Center of the Presidential Library based on the Chelyabinsk Regional Universal Scientific Library.

The main goals and objectives of the competition are to promote the electronic collections and electronic resources of the Presidential Library, as well as to promote historical knowledge about Russia, increase the professional competence of librarians, form, preserve and enhance the moral and cultural values ​​of Russian society.

Competitive works were evaluated in the following nominations:

• scenario of an event on military-patriotic themes;

• scenario of an event on civil and moral topics;

• scenario of an event on scientific and educational topics;

• scenario of an event on cultural and educational topics.

“The competition included 12 works from the libraries of our region: Magnitogorsk, Zlatoust, Kopeysk, Nyazepetrovsk, Karabash, Verkhny Ufaley, Kartalinsky, Troitsky, Krasnoarmeysky, Agapovsky and Uvelsky municipal districts”, - emphasizes Galina Epanikhina, head of the Regional Center of Access to the Presidential Library's resources. “They were mainly timed to coincide with memorable and jubilee dates of this year: the 800th anniversary of the birth of Alexander Nevsky, the 80th anniversary of the start of the Great Patriotic War and the siege of Leningrad”.  

All works, without exception, are interesting and unique in terms of content and form of presentation of the material. For example, this is a virtual game for senior pupils "Experts" based on materials from the collections of the Presidential Library, created by specialists from the Uvelsky District, or an intellectual and cognitive game "The Law by which We Live", developed by employees of the Krasnoarmeysky District. Also, many participants of the competition were interested in the analysis of the historical personality - the Grand Prince Alexander Nevsky - the quest "The Great Battles of Nevsky".

The winners of the regional competition are:

• Irina Morshinina, head of the department for the organization and use of the unified collections of the Central Regional Library in Nyazepetrovsk, head of the remote electronic reading room of the Boris Yeltsin Presidential Library (1st degree diploma);

• Tatiana Ivanova, librarian of the Intersettlement Central Regional Library of Kartaly (2nd degree diploma);

• Marina Korobeyshchikova, head of the service department of the Agapov Central Library, and Galina Gibner, bibliographer of the Agapov Central Library (3rd degree diploma).

According to the specialists of the Chelyabinsk Regional Center of the Presidential Library, further plans are to make the regional competition annual, as well as to form a methodological "piggy bank" of the best works.

This competition continues a number of competitive events of the Presidential Library, such as Our Region: Selected Pages of History, Regions of Russia in Persons, Foreign View Multimedia Contest, a competition of student works (projects) using information resources of the Presidential Library as well as professional methodological contests.
