Volunteers of Local History All-Russian Contest invites the whole family

Schoolchildren and students focused on the study of the history of Russia, who are fond of local history, journalism and project activities, have opportunity to take part in Volunteers of Local History All-Russian Contest. The project is being implemented within the framework of the federal project Patriotic education of citizens of the Russian Federation of the national project Education. The organizer of the competition is Open Education with the support of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation and the Boris Yeltsin Presidential Library.

The aim of the contest is to involve the youth of the Russian Federation in modern formats of patriotic education, to form an active civic position, intellectual and personal development by means of research and project activities.

Family teams, consisting of students from educational organizations of various types and representatives of children's and youth public associations between the ages of 12 and 35; their family members; teachers accompanying the research and project activities of students are invited to participate in the contest.

Participation in the contest of a family team ensures the continuity of generations in the restoration and understanding of family history, as well as in the creation of socially significant projects aimed at widespread popularization of the history of the small homeland.

The contest is held in three nominations:

“Our Heritage” - for young researchers of the local history of Russian regions, working to identify interesting, vivid, unique stories about events, significant personalities, about the history of Russian cities and villages;

"My Pedigree" - for young researchers of the history of family and clan;

“Names of the Great Victory” - for young researchers studying the history of compatriots who fought on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War and worked in the rear, the evacuation of enterprises to the rear and the wartime economy.

Training in an online school of practical history for participants in all nominations is compulsory at the contest. One can choose online courses "Research methodology and understanding of my ancestry", "Research methodology and understanding of stories of the history of a small homeland", "Basics of a media volunteer for the widespread promotion of local history", "Creation and implementation of patriotic social projects and actions based on plots of local history”.

The portfolio of research and design works from family teams, assessed by the jury in the final of the contest, is created by the participants with the methodological support of experts during the educational and design stages of the contest and is not prepared in advance.

The qualifying stage is held until September 30, 2021. Examination of works and awarding of winners will take place from November 11 to December 10, 2021. The Presidential Library will be represented in the jury by the leading researcher of the scientific and methodological service, Candidate of Historical Sciences Yegor Bagrin.

The finalists of the contest will present their research online on the page of the Presidential Library in the VKontakte social network.
