The Presidential Library marking the Day of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the Nazi siege

The Presidential Library provides an interactive tour of the museum Kobona: Road of Life. The institution's portal features a virtual tour prepared by the library specialists together with the Museum Agency of Leningrad Region.

Located on the eastern shore of Lake Ladoga, the village of Kobona, which houses the museum, has forever entered the history of the Great Patriotic War: it was here that the famous Road of Life passed, connecting the besieged Leningrad with the mainland.

The virtual tour gives opportunity from any corner of the world to examine the museum halls, where photographs, maps, diagrams, drawings, diaries, authentic wartime items are kept, most of which are accompanied by comprehensive and carefully selected information about the exhibit, its history, context, etc. by the museum staff and etc.

Thematically, the exposition is divided into several blocks. Thus, in the hall dedicated to the Road of Life, a visitor to the museum will learn about the design and operation of this complex logistics system, built in a short time in extremely difficult conditions; about the people, thanks to whose efforts the connection with the city surrounded by the enemy was constantly maintained. The atmosphere of that is available in the blockade room, which tells about the everyday side of the life of Leningraders during the years of the siege. An installation that conveys the vanity of an evacuation center is presented in the cinema hall.

Other parts of the exposition are dedicated to school, which now houses the museum, and during the war years there was an evacuation point; history of the southern Ladoga area and the village of Kobona; life and career of the famous native of these places, the poet A. A. Prokofiev.

Virtual projects is an actively developing area of activity of the Presidential Library, thanks to which the electronic repository, along with paper, photo, audio and video materials, is entered with exhibits from exhibitions, items from museum collections.
