A workshop for specialists of the Centralized Library System of the city held in Tyumen

Within the preparation for the new educational project "Kray72", which is a series of library lessons for students of the 8th grade of educational institutions in the city of Tyumen, specialists of the Branch of the Yeltsin Presidential Library in Tyumen Region held a workshop for librarians of the Centralized Сity Library System of the Department of Culture of the Administration of the city of Tyumen.

The project is focused on the formation of schoolchildren's conscious attitude to the Victory Day as a result of the heroic deeds of the people in World War II and the Great Patriotic War.

On March 28, 2023 the chief bibliographer of the branch, Natalya Aleksandrovna Kuznetsova, introduced students to the Presidential Library’s information resources: the main sections of the portal, basic collections of documents as well as the algorithm of work in the electronic reading room.

The audience also learned that the branch systematically develops thematic electronic exhibitions based on the Presidential Library’s collections, dedicated to famous historical figures or timed to events significant for the history of our Fatherland. Presentations are freely available on the main page of the branch in the Methodological work section. It is also possible to access them in the chat of the remote access centers of Tyumen Region and in the group of the branch on the VKontakte social network. Each exhibition is accompanied by interactive quizzes, tests, crossword puzzles and games that reinforce the learned material.

On March 29 the workshop was dwelled on the materials of the Collection of archival documents, film and photo materials World War II in Archival Documents. The workshop participants examined on the Presidential Library’s portal such documents as the Munich Agreement of September 29, 1938, the German-Soviet Treaty of Friendship and the Border between the USSR and Germany of September 28, 1939 and other materials of the Collection.

The librarians appreciated the educational potential of the Presidential Library’s resources, and also showed interest in the website President of Russia to Citizens of School Age, leafed through its pages with pleasure and decided that it would be interesting to use its capabilities in their daily work.
