Ryazan Regional Centre of the Presidential Library held a series of library lessons for schoolchildren

On the eve of Russian Language Day and Russia Day, the Regional Centre of the Presidential Library based on the Gorky Ryazan Regional Universal Scientific Library, has prepared a number of educational events for schoolchildren.

Thus, in the summer health camp of school No. 64, a meeting dedicated to Pushkin’s Day was held in Ryazan. Students were told about the life and work of the great Russian poet, novelist, playwright, historian, publicist, creator of the modern Russian literary language. During the event, schoolchildren shared the plots of their favorite works by Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin, as well as answered quiz questions and solved puzzles.

Library lessons were held for pupils of summer camps at Ryazan schools No. 64 and No. 10, within the framework of which the resources of the Presidential Library were presented. The children learned about the state symbols of the Russian Federation and the history of the Russian flag, watched videos about Russia and the Moscow Kremlin. During the lesson, the students also sang the anthem of the Russian Federation. In addition, the children learned about the unique places of our country, which belong to the UNESCO World Heritage Sites and are included in the list of wonders of Russia.

According to the organizers, such events introduce children to history and contribute to the formation of civic responsibility.

The lessons make it possible to integrate the resources of a modern electronic library and its capabilities into the educational process through the disclosure of methodological means on a multimedia basis of documents devoted to important events in the history of Russia and the formation of its statehood. The use of multimedia technologies also makes the learning process more interesting, interactive and as productive as possible.

The Presidential Library’s portal also features the collection Ryazan Region: Pages of History. It contains archival documents, research studies, essays, statistical, reference, cartographic and audiovisual materials covering various aspects of the region’s development.
