The Presidential Library of the Administrative Directorate of the President of the Russian Federation presented projects at the XXVII St. Petersburg International Economic Forum

The Presidential Library of the The Presidential Library of the Administrative Directorate of the President of the Russian Federation presented educational projects at the XXVII St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), which was held this year from June 5 to 8.

At the St. Petersburg stand at the SPIEF site, it was possible to learn the electronic exhibition project of the Presidential Library "Industry of the besieged city. The 80th anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the Nazi Siege." The project tells about the heroic work of factories and plants that worked in the city during the difficult war years. The stand was visited by Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Olga Lyubimova, President of the Republika Srpska of Bosnia and Herzegovina Milorad Dodik, Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov and other distinguished guests.

An interactive map of Leningrad from 1935 was presented on the multimedia table. It showed the location of more than 70 key industrial enterprises of the city. Materials from the electronic collection of the Presidential Library and the State Memorial Museum of the Defence and Siege of Leningrad are selected for each object: documents, book editions, research, images. The activities of the Bolshevik plant (today Obukhov Plant JSC), which repaired military equipment, manufactured guns and ammunition during the Great Patriotic War, are presented separately.

Sergey Grinevich, Head of the Information and Communication Technologies Department of the Administrative Directorate of the President of the Russian Federation, Yuri Nosov, Director General of the Presidential Library, and employees of the institution took part in the SPIEF events at the St. Petersburg stand.

During the XXVII St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, several cooperation agreements were signed between the Presidential Library and its partners:

- The leading Russian video hosting platform RUTUBE, represented by its CEO Sergey Ivanov.
- The Federal Service for Consumer Rights Protection and Welfare (Rospotrebnadzor), represented by its head, Anna Popova.
- Russian Post, represented by General Director Mikhail Volkov.
- Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology (Rosstandart), represented by head Anton Shalaev.
- Russian public and state organization "Russian Knowledge Society", represented by General Director Maxim Dreval.
- Agreement on cooperation with the Russian Military Historical Society. It was signed in the presence of Vladimir Medinsky, Chairman of the Russian Military Historical Society.

On June 6th, Director General of the Presidential Library, Yuri Nosov, also met with Milorad Dodik, President of the Republika Srpska of Bosnia and Herzegovina, at the XXVII St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The parties discussed further cooperation on implementing joint cultural and educational projects at the meeting.

During the tours, visitors were informed about the history and architectural features of the Synod building, which was built in the second quarter of the 19th century by the renowned architect Carl Rossi. They also learned about the main activities of the Presidential Library, Russia's largest repository of electronic documents on the history of the Russian state.

The guests were shown how to use the resources of the Presidential Library and how the collections are organized. They saw documents from the electronic collection Russian State and Economy displayed on the plasma screens in the reading room.The library visitors were able to see the restored interiors of the Holy Synod as well as the Column Hall and the multimedia transformation hall, which are equipped with modern technical equipment and were created for hosting Russian and international events.

The participants of the forum visited the exhibition "Memory of Generations", which was dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the complete relief of the Nazi siege of Leningrad and was prepared jointly with the Russian Military Historical Society. The exhibition was opened on May 27th, the Day of the founding of St. Petersburg, Russian Library Day, and the 15th anniversary of Presidential Library.

Based on reliable historical materials, the exposition tells about how, immediately after the relief of the siege, people commemorated the feat of the city and its heroic defenders, and how our contemporaries perceive the events surrounding the liberation of besieged Leningrad.

The showcases feature items from the collections of the two exhibitions dedicated to the Battle of Leningrad: "Heroic Defense of Leningrad" and "Svir Victory". These are photographs, authentic paintings, and objects created by participants in the battles. The modern section of the exhibition presents large-scale projects by the Russian Military Historical Society and the Presidential Library to commemorate the siege, as well as recent scientific works and documents about the siege as a genocide against the peoples of the Soviet Union. The exhibition will run in the Presidential Library until August 17, 2024. The guests also visited the tablet and multimedia exhibition dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the Presidential Library. The exhibition tells about the history and activities of the library. Thanks to infographics and photographs, visitors can get a visual idea of how the library was created and developed. They can also learn about the successes of the library, its educational and scientific activities, and other projects.
