Presidential Library opened exhibition dedicated to Great Patriotic War and special military operation

On 5 May 2025, the Presidential Library opened the multimedia exhibition "Chroniclers of History. The Spiral of Time through the Lenses of Cameras".

The exposition is based on a unique international photo project of the same name, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War and the Year of the Defender of the Fatherland.

The project was created by the editorial staff of the magazine "New Regions of Russia" in co-operation with the East Crimean Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve.

Visitors to the Presidential Library will see archive photos of the legendary photo chronicler of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 Yevgeny Khaldey, as well as works by the editor-in-chief of the magazine "New Regions of Russia", member of the Union of Journalists of Russia, documentary photographer Sergey Venyavsky, which show the life of the reunited regions and border territories of Russia in the period from 2022 to 2023.

The photo project "Chroniclers of History. Spiral of Time through the Lenses of Cameras" for the first time draws visual parallels between the events of the Great Patriotic War and the special military operation, between the history and modernity of Russia, and preserves the historical memory of significant events of the XX-XXI centuries for future generations.

The project is also available on the Presidential Library's portal and on the "Images of War" portal of the Russian Military Historical Society.

Project partners: the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, the Government of Leningrad Region and St. Petersburg, the Government and Legislative Assembly of the Rostov Region, the Foundation for Support and Protection of the Rights of Compatriots Living Abroad, the Russian Military Historical Society, the Presidential Library of the Russian Presidential Administration, the Russian State Library, PJSC "Promsvyazbank", the information and analytical bulletin TASS "Russia South-West", the Donetsk News Agency, the federal network of bureaus.

Visit the multimedia exhibition "Chroniclers of History. Spiral of Time through the Lenses of Cameras" is available till 16 May 2025 within the framework of excursions to the Presidential Library.
