Presidential Library takes part in ceremony of laying flowers at monument to Peter the Great

May 27, 2025, the day of the foundation of Saint Petersburg. A solemn ceremony of laying flowers at the monument to Peter the Great was held on the Senate Square in St. Petersburg.

The event was attended by Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko, Presidential Plenipotentiary Representative in the North-Western Federal District Alexander Gutsan, State Secretary-Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Anna Tsivileva, Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov, Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the city Alexander Belsky, representatives of legislative and executive bodies of the state authorities, the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation, the Armed Forces of Russia, religious denominations, public organizations, Honorary citizens of St. Petersburg.

A delegation of the Presidential Library of the Administrative Directorate of the Russian Federation headed by Yuri Nosov, General Director and Chairman of the St. Petersburg Regional Branch of the Russian Military Historical Society, took part in the solemn ceremony of laying flowers at the monument to Peter the Great.

The ceremony ended with the passing of a Company of the Honor Guard along Admiralteiskaya Embankment accompanied by the Military Brass Band of the Western Military District.

On the same day, the opening ceremony of the exhibition Memory of Generations: Great Victory! dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War was held in the Presidential Library building on the Senate Square. The exhibition is organized by the Russian Military Historical Society and the Presidential Library of the Administrative Directorate of the Russian Federation.
