25 July 2025

Specialists of the Regional Centre of the Presidential Library, operating on the basis of the Ryazan Regional Universal Scientific Library named after Gorky, held a patriotic hour for the pupils of children's health camps "Smena" and "Skazka". The event was dedicated to one of the most significant pages in the history of our country - the Battle of Kursk.

During the event, the children learnt about the scale and significance of the battle, which became a turning point in the Great Patriotic War. The lecture was accompanied by presentations, visual materials, as well as fragments of newsreels, which helped to better understand the course of events of that time. The event ended with a quiz where the children tested their knowledge.

The patriotic meeting was prepared on the basis of the materials of the World War II in Archival Documents Collection presented on the Presidential Library portal. The project includes materials on the prehistory and history of the Second World War from 1933 to 1941 and the main stages of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.

Such patriotic events help the young generation to develop a sense of pride in their country and respect for the exploits of their ancestors, as well as help preserve the memory of important events in Russian history.

In the year of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory it will be interesting to learn the collection of the Presidential Library 1945: from war to post-war peace. The selection includes studies, archival materials, newspaper and magazine chronicles, photographs and cartoons.
