Presidential Library and Jewish Autonomous Region plan joint projects
At the Eastern Economic Forum, held in Vladivostok from 3 to 6 September, the document was signed by Yuri Nosov, Director General of the Presidential Library of the Administratiev Directorate of the President of the Russian Federation, and Maria Kostyuk, Acting Governor of the Jewish Autonomous Region.
Yuri Nosov, Director General of the Presidential Library, noted: "The cooperation agreement will contribute to the formation of an information space, the preservation of historical memory, the counteraction of historical falsification, the strengthening of patriotism, and the formation of spiritual and moral values."
Acting Governor of the Jewish Autonomous Region Maria Kostyuk emphasised: "Joint projects will expand young people's access to unique digital resources and preserve and support traditional spiritual, moral, cultural and historical values. Of particular importance is the development of the Birobidzhan Regional Centre of the Presidential Library, which will become a powerful resource for historical education and patriotic upbringing of the residents of our region."
The Presidential Library and the EAO Government have agreed to carry out informational, educational, cultural, and educational activities in the region, primarily working with young people and using the information resources of the Presidential Library.
Special attention will be paid to joint events – forums, conferences, exhibition projects in digital format, based on materials from the Presidential Library collection.
The signed agreement provides for measures aimed at developing the Birobidzhan Regional Centre of the Presidential Library, which operates on the basis of the Birobidzhan Regional Universal Scientific Library named after Sholom Aleichem, as well as the opening of new electronic reading rooms with access to the information resources of the Presidential Library. One of the points of the agreement was to support the development of partnership cooperation with fund holders – organisations operating in the region – with the aim of transferring digital information of national importance on the state, socio-economic and historical-cultural development of the Jewish Autonomous Region to the Presidential Library fund.
The Presidential Library portal features an electronic collection entitled Jewish Autonomous Region: Pages of History. It includes official documents, research, essays, photographs and other materials characterising the geographical, socio-economic, socio-political and cultural aspects of the history of the formation of the Jewish Autonomous Region in the 1920s and 1930s and its development in the early 21st century.
