Presidential Library congratulated UNECON on its anniversary
On September 25, 2025, Yuri Nosov, Director General of the Presidential Library, took part in a ceremony marking the 95th anniversary of St. Petersburg State University of Economics (UNECON), Russia's oldest economics university.
One of the key events took place at the Tauride Palace – a solemn meeting of the Academic Council and the Alumni Association of SPbGEU. The event was attended by representatives of federal and regional authorities, rectors of leading universities in Russia and abroad, as well as famous alumni and representatives of major partner companies. University employees were also presented with departmental awards.
Yuri Nosov congratulated the staff of SPbGEU on their anniversary and emphasized that "the Presidential Library and Saint Petersburg State University of Economics have enjoyed many years of fruitful cooperation."
Every year, the Presidential Library hosts the National Scientific and Methodological Conference with international participation, "The Architecture of University Education," where current issues in the development of the higher education system are discussed. The conference brings together representatives of federal authorities and major corporations, leaders of leading universities, independent experts, and public figures.
Recently, as part of the 10th anniversary Eastern Economic Forum, the All-Russian campaign "In the Footsteps of the Kamchatka Expedition. For the Glory of the Motherland!" was launched, initiated by the Prosveshcheniye publishing house, St. Petersburg State University of Economics, and the Presidential Library. As part of the campaign, a marathon is being held for students in grades 8-11 to create guidebooks with historical interactive excursions and journeys. Participants use the electronic resources of the Presidential Library to prepare their work.
The campaign will help to imprint vivid images of the expedition participants—Russian researchers and military personnel—in the minds of the younger generation, to appreciate their enormous contribution to the discovery, study, and development of the land, and will also help foster a sense of pride in young people for belonging to the Russian people and statehood, as well as an awareness of their role in society and responsibility for the fate of the country.
